new for 2009











Happy New Year to you all.




We have just received Michele Hill's great new book "William Morris in Applique" featuring 6 stunning projects and over 40 individual designs.




We also have some great new Valdani 3 stranded balls of thread all hand dyed and in plains & variagated country colours.




The Vintage Miniature sewing machine Block of the Month is now up and running at $25 per month for 12 months + postage.We have this in blue (pictured) or pink fabrics. Great project if you love doing the stitcheries.




We will also be running the new Thimbleberries Block of the Month this year called 3's Company.This is a great sampler quilt and we will have it in the Light Colour & the Traditional Colour.




I am off to Melbourne to the Australian Open Tennis for the Australia day weekend.Hope to see some good matches.Cheers Cheryl

Hi Everyone,
I would like to wish you all a Merry xmas & Happy New Year.
I am closing xmas day & boxing day and will be open on the 27th with a 27% off sale on xmas stock and beading supplies from 9.30 until 11.30.This will be the last saturday morning that I will be opening.
My new shop hours for 2009 are Tues,Wed,Fri. from 9.30am until 4.30pm and Thursday 9.30am until 6pm and Thursdays during daylight savings 9.30am until 7pm.
Call and see our new stock from the quilt market which is still filtering in every week.We have some great new books,some lovely old fashion tins,new valdani balls of threads in three strands in great country colours & lots of new patterns.New fabrics will be arriving in the New Year.

Hi Everyone,
Sorry I haven't posted for awhile.My mother-in-law Connie is very sick and have had to spend a lot of time with her,
Went to the quilt market in Melbourne a few weeks ago and have had new stock coming in ever since.
We have some great new books, With Needle & Thread and From the Heart by Natalie Bird,The world as it should be by Anni Downs from Hatched & Patched,Thank you Sarah Tobia and In Full Bloom byBlackbird designs.
We also have some great new patterns from Hatched & Patched & Ella & Skysie Designs & Libby Richardson.
We have some great new Lunch Box tins from Moda with old pictures on them.A great sewing box.
Next year we will be running a new BOM by Ella & Skysie Designs which is stitcheries of 12 old sewing machines made into a quilt as well as the history of these sewing machines included.We have the patterns in store now.
We will also be running the new Thimbleberries BOM called 3's Company in the Light Colourways.
We have new jelly rolls and some fabulous new wooden buttons.Will have some new photos up soon when I get my new camera charger(lost my old one)

Block of the Months

Hi there everyone,
Well we have put the footy celebrations behind us now and it is back to work as usual.
I have been busy doing up Block of the Month Kits as we have had some renewed interested in the Quilted Village.All our BOM can be found on our website.
I have also finished making a couple of bags for the Cancer Council from a Moonshine pattern called The Gipsy Bag.Its a great shopping bag.I have got three different Moonshine Bag patterns and they are all very good instructions to follow.
I have made up the Festive Season table runner up into a kit.This is pictured as work in progress on one of my previous Blog's.
Now I am back to appliqued Teddy Bears on Libby Richardsons new pattern which I should have finished very soon.

Hatherleigh Eagles


Well not much sewing has been happening this week as it has been a week of celebrations.Congratulations to our local footy team Hatherleigh as they won the A & G grade footy grandfinals on the weekend as well as the B & Under 13 netball.Four out of four not bad.What an exciting weekend. Son Matt played in the B grade final and is pictured above with his medal and the team.It is 22 years since the B grade have won a Grandfinal so they will be celebrating for awhile.I'm so proud of them.Until next week when I will be back to sewing again.
We are really short of numbers for the Lessa Siegele class and may have to cancel so if anyone is still interested in that class please let me know.Cheers Cheryl

Fabrics


The patterns pictured here are Libby Richardsons two new patterns which are just lovely.

This is a new pattern that I made up last week.There are two size bags in the pattern and I also have a good range of glass bead braid to go on them.This pattern is very simple to follow which is great as some bag patterns are very complicated.

Work in Progress


Here is a picture of the xmas table runner that I am currently working on. This will be available as a kit or pattern.



We also have here a photo of a childrens jumper and some socks that we have been knitting.We are stocking the Heirloom 4 ply wool that these are made from.

workshops



These are a couple of quilts from our upcoming workshops.
The scrappy quilt on the far left is a two day workshop with Lessa Siegele on the 22nd & 23rd October.
The Log Cabin quilt is a class I have been doing and will repeat when we have enough numbers.
